Trend Alert: Golf Course Apps
Just in the past week, we noticed that two golf courses in our area – Centennial in Carmel, New York and Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, New Jersey – were promoting their own apps for mobile devices.
Both courses’ apps are free, and include features like GPS, tee time bookings, scorecards, playing tips, and food and beverage menus.
Needless to say, I love the idea of golf courses making themselves more digitally interactive and advanced – and from a pure business standpoint, it’s a no-brainer for golf facilities to to engage customers like this. It’s simple, cheap, and smart.
I expect that these apps will be highly successful and that we’ll soon see a flurry of golf course apps being created.
