World’s First “Floating” Golf Course To Be Built In Maldives

There are unique golfing experiences like Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, and Bandon Dunes.  And then there’s this  story from CNN.com about plans for a $500 million “floating” golf course in Maldives.

The 27-hole set-up will be constructed on the Indian Ocean, and will be comprised of three islands.  Perhaps the coolest part – the clubhouse is located underwater and reached by taking a glass elevator down into the ocean.

Developers expect the course to be playable by 2013.

The Golf Course Guru is currently accepting all donations for travel expenses, so that this course can be properly reviewed.
