VIDEO: Former NHL Star Joe Sakic Hits $1 Million Hole-in-One

He shoots...he scores!

If you’re like me (ie, not a hockey fan), you probably best remember Joe Sakic for his prowess in EA Sports “NHL Hockey” video game franchise.  As it turns out, that was no accident – the guy was voted to thirteen All-Star teams and won the Stanley Cup twice with the Colorado Avalanche.  Yesterday, Sakic added to his legend, sinking a hole-in-one at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Lake Tahoe, and winning a cool million dollars.  Sakic will keep $500,000 – and the other half will be donated to Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Foundation, which sponsored the tournament.

Sakic’s ace came on the 162-yard 17th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course – and his club of choice was an 8-iron.
